Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
What Dojo Lister can see when you connect your Etsy shop, what we do with it, and how to have it deleted. The rules of using Dojo Lister are in our Terms of Service.
Where things stand today
Dojo Lister is in early access. Connecting a real shop is in testing, and no shop data is stored yet.
The short version
- We only see your shop after you approve access on Etsy's own permission page.
- We use it only to score listings, suggest fixes, and save the listings you create or edit when you press Save. No AI involved.
- We never sell your data, never see your buyers' details, and never use it to train AI.
- Disconnect and ask us to delete your data anytime. We do it within 30 days.
01Who we are
Dojo Lister is an independent listing manager for Etsy sellers, operated by HandyCoco LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company (“we”, “us” or “our”). It's in early access and still being built.
We're not part of Etsy, and Etsy doesn't run Dojo Lister. Questions about this policy go to support@dojolister.com.
02What this policy covers
- This website.
- The demo, which uses a made-up shop (Mossy Kiln (sample shop)), never real shop data.
- The Etsy connection, if you choose to connect.
- Email, when you write to us.
What Etsy does with your information is covered by Etsy's own privacy policy.
03What we access, and when
Only after you connect, through Etsy's official sign-in (OAuth). You approve on Etsy's own page, which lists exactly what we ask for. Say no, and nothing is shared.
Shop info (shops_r)
- Shop name, ID, description and sections
- Announcement and sale messages. Etsy calls these “messages”; they're not your conversations with buyers, which we can't see.
- Lifetime sales count, the single number on your public shop profile (no order, buyer or payment details)
Listings (listings_r)
- Titles, tags, descriptions, price, quantity and materials
- Status (active, draft, inactive or expired), and whether shipping, processing and return policies are set
- How many photos each listing has, and how many have alt text
- Views (updated daily by Etsy) and favorites
We can also create and edit listings (listings_w), but only when you press Save. See Why we use it.
Today
Connecting is still a test. If our server is fully set up, we exchange Etsy's one-time code for an access token once, use it only to check which permissions you granted, and discard it. Otherwise we stop as soon as Etsy sends you back. Either way, we don't fetch or store any shop data or tokens yet.
04What we never access
We don't ask Etsy for these, so we can't see:
- Your orders, receipts or payments
- Your buyers' names, email addresses or shipping addresses
- Your conversations with buyers
- Your Etsy password (you sign in on Etsy, never on our site)
So we never see buyers' emails and have no way to contact your buyers. How we work with Etsy lists every permission we ask for, and the ones we don't.
05Why we use it
Only to run the features you use:
- Completion scores from our 100-point checklist, shown as a score and belt.
- Suggestions for what's missing, plus titles, tags and descriptions to try.
- Keyword ideas built from your own titles and tags.
- Listings you create. When you add photos and details for a new item and press Save, we send them to Etsy, which saves the listing in your shop as a draft.
- Edits you approve. With
listings_w, we save a change to a listing only when you press Save. We never delete listings, or change anything on our own.
06No AI
Dojo Lister doesn't use AI to analyze or rewrite your listings. Scores and suggestions come from rule-based checks against Etsy's listing limits, and keyword ideas come from your own words.
If that ever changes, we'll update this policy and tell you before we start.
07Our role
For your shop data, we act as your service provider. You decide what to connect, create and change, and we process it only to run the features you use, on your instructions. We never use it for our own purposes, like advertising or building profiles.
08Information you give us
- Photos and details for a new listing. We use them only to create that listing in your shop when you press Save.
- Support emails. We keep your message and our reply for up to 24 months so we can help and follow up, then delete them.
- The early-access form on our home page is a preview. It doesn't send or store anything you type.
- Photos you try in the demo stay in your browser. The demo never uploads them, and they're gone when you close the page.
09How long we keep data
Once full sync launches:
- Only as long as needed. We'll keep a copy (a cache) of your shop and listing data only while we need it to run the service.
- Kept fresh. We'll refresh it as often as Etsy's API Terms (opens in a new tab) require, so you never see out-of-date listings.
- Deleted when you leave. Within 30 days of you disconnecting or asking us to.
Today, nothing is stored. The connection test keeps no shop data and no tokens.
10What we never do with it
- We never sell, rent or trade your data.
- We share it only with the providers that run Dojo Lister: today, Netlify (hosting) and our support inbox provider (the emails you send us). They use it only to provide their service to us. If this list changes, we'll update this page.
- We never put your shop data into AI tools or use it to train AI models.
- We never send marketing to your buyers.
The only exception is a legal requirement, like a valid court order. Then we share only what's required, and tell you when we're allowed to.
11Where your data is processed
Dojo Lister runs on Netlify, so your data may be processed outside your country, where data protection laws may differ. Where the law requires it, we rely on recognized safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
12Legal bases (EU and UK sellers)
If you're in the EU or the UK, we rely on:
- Contract, to provide the features you connected your shop for.
- Legitimate interests, to keep the service secure, fix problems and answer your emails, in ways you'd reasonably expect.
- Consent, where the law requires it. You can withdraw it at any time.
13Disconnecting and deletion
- On Etsy. Revoke our access anytime in Etsy → Account settings → Apps (Connected apps) (opens in a new tab). After that, we can't read or change anything in your shop.
- In Dojo Lister. Once full sync launches, you'll be able to disconnect from inside the app.
- By email. Ask support@dojolister.com to delete your data. We'll do it within 30 days and let you know when it's done.
14Cookies and analytics
We keep this to a minimum. Here's everything we store in your browser:
| Name | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|
dl_etsy_oauthCookie · essential | Set only when you press Connect. It checks that Etsy's reply matches the connection you started. | 10 minutes |
sidebar_stateCookie · preference | Remembers whether the demo's sidebar is open. Nothing else. | 7 days |
themeLocal storage · preference | Remembers light or dark mode, if you choose one. | Until you clear it |
- No analytics or advertising cookies. If we ever add privacy-friendly analytics, we'll update this page first.
- Self-hosted fonts, so your browser doesn't contact Google to load them.
- Server logs. Our host keeps standard logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.
15Security
- Every page is served over HTTPS.
- Connecting uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE and state checks: you sign in on Etsy, and we check that the connection coming back is the one you started.
- We ask for only three permissions, none for orders, payments or buyers.
- Secret keys stay on our server, and we never see your Etsy password.
No system is perfectly secure. If something affects your data, we'll tell you, and anyone else we're required to, as quickly as we can.
16Children's privacy
Dojo Lister isn't meant for children. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) and able to run an Etsy shop under Etsy's rules. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, email support@dojolister.com and we'll delete it.
17Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the information we hold about you, and to object to or limit how we use it.
To ask, email support@dojolister.com. We may first confirm it's really you, so nobody else can get at your data. We'll reply within 30 days, and asking won't change how we treat you. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
18Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Once Dojo Lister has accounts, we'll also tell you about important changes before they take effect.
